Our Research Begins…

24 05 2008

This afternoon we met with Marie Sylvestre Belanger, an M.Sc graduate in Responsible Tourism Management from the University of Greenwich, U.K.  Her experience and research in the field of responsible tourism was enlightening. At our first of hopefully many meetings, she explained the base of her research. Perhaps most instructive was the misconception of eco-tourism terminology. In turns out “Eco-tourism” is actually a socially responsible and sustainable product sold to tourists while “responsible tourism” is a movement involving all levels of the tourism industry. Our next step: explore all levels of the industry!

Thanks again Marie!
